CLOCKS ⏰️

1 earth rotation = 1 day/broken into 24 segments of sun and moon positions in the sky. 1 full moon cycle = roughly 1 month/28 days. 7 days = 1 week, a noticeably different moon segment in its rotation. We break it into 4 (full, 3 quarter, half, quarter) 1 lap around the sun = 1 year/365 days/13 moon cycles/4 seasons. These are examples of natural clocks short enough for us humans to observe, acknowledge and it forms the basis of our concept of time. We need it to predict, order ourselves and estimate how much time we might have left. Farmers need to know what to do when and they depend on these clocks so that there could be food year round. Nomadic groups needed to know when to move to follow the water and greener pastures.  We understand a decade is ten years. A century is a hundred years and a millennium is a thousand years, none of us will ever see in one lifetime from beginning to end. But these are artificial measurements of time.
